Meet: Kaitlyn Coakley, Managing Partner of PKL Boston

Meet Kaitlyn Coakley: Managing Partner at PKL Boston

Pickleball, food, and socializing, what more could you ask for? We had the chance to meet Managing Partner Kaitlyn Coakley of PKL Boston. She gave us a tour of the space and insight into what PKL is all about. The idea came up during the pandemic. Kaitlyn told us, “We started playing pickleball during the pandemic when everyone was looking for fun activities to do outside. It doesn't take long to fall in love with the game.” The idea of watching sports at a bar is no new concept, but PKL is the only pickleball venue in all of Boston! Kaitlyn and her partners Brian and Dustin said, “[we] come from the fitness industry, so bonding over a social sports game came naturally. We also share a love for thoughtful food, good beer, and craft cocktails. PKL is where these two passions meet. Pickleball is such a social sport and is accessible to people of all ages and athletic ability levels.”

Kaitlyn explained there is something for everyone, “If you're a seasoned pickleball player, we have leagues, tournaments, and open play. If you're new to the game, we have lessons, clinics, and mixers.” PKL offers pickleball for all levels, shuffleboard, cornhole, trivia, and live music. There is also a full-service restaurant featuring items created by Chopped Champion, Chef Chris Walker, as well as a full bar with craft cocktails and draft beer. As the new year begins, PKL has some announcements forthcoming. Kaitlyn is excited about expanded hours in 2023. “We hope to be open every day at 8AM, as soon as possible. More pickleball, more live music, Drag Game Night, and more,” she explains.

PKL has been settled in South Boston for six months now, and they have found a community within the neighborhood. “This neighborhood is unlike any other in the city,” says Kaitlyn with a smile on her face. “It’s been awesome to see the community foster around the game.”

We are so excited to have this unique establishment in Southie and encourage everyone to check it out. This is a perfect place for a group of friends, date night, or to meet new people at PKL’s mixers. You can find them at 64 C Street in Iron Works any day of the week!
