L Street Brownies Polar Plunge
Plunge into Dorchester Bay on New Years Day! Join in on the fun with the L Street Brownies on their yearly cold plunge. This tradition started in 1901 and has been going strong ever since as the country’s oldest “polar bear” club! Head to James M Curley Community Center on January 1st at 9AM.
Bottomless Dumplings at Mei Mei Dumplings
Enjoy an all-you-can-eat dumpling buffet at Mei Mei Dumplings! The buffet will include a variety of delicious flavors, a toppings and sauce bar, salad sides, and beverages for purchase. This fun-filled foodie event on January 9th offers two timed entries (5PM & 7PM) so guests can choose the best time. Tickets are available on Eventbrite or at the door, space permitting!
Next Stop Comedy Show
Next Stop Comedy brings top stand-up comedians to our local brewery for a night of laughs and entertainment! Join the fun on January 10th at Castle Island Brewing Company in South Boston. Each show features a fresh line-up of talent, with acts you’ve seen on TV or popular podcasts.
Little Groove at Southie BPL
Join Little Groove for a fun and interactive 40-minute concert at our South Boston branch of the Boston Public Library on January 22nd! Perfect for children ages 0-5 and their caregivers, this top-rated music class features singing, movement, and real instruments like drums and tambourines. Don’t miss this chance to foster a love for music through play and hands-on learning, and be sure to register!
Mug Making at Cannonball Cafe
Head to Cannonball Cafe for a coffee-tasting and pottery class on January 25th with Pottery with a Purpose! One ticket includes one to two handmade mugs, a drink, and a 20-minute tasting by Cannonball’s owner, Rachel. A portion of your ticket profits a mental wellness non-profit or initiative – which means you play a role in creating a better world for us all while having some fun!
ASCA Monthly Meeting
Attend the monthly ASCA meeting on Monday, January 27th at 6:30PM at 4 Alger St.! These monthly meetings allow all neighborhood residents to have a say in their community regarding changes, upcoming updates, new businesses, etc. The agenda and notes are available on ASCA’s calendar page.
