Community Events
South Boston Christmas Stroll
Mark your calendar for the annual Christmas Stroll in the neighborhood. Beginning at 4PM, Santa will be making his way to Medal of Honor Park, East Broadway Library (where he will light the tree!), West Broadway Municipal Parking Lot, and C Street & West Broadway Corner. There will be music, free pedicab rides, and great deals and discounts at our local small businesses and restaurants.
Dirty Italian Holiday Open House
The Dirty Italian is kicking off the holiday season with its 2nd annual Holiday Open House, which includes a tour of its storefront and kitchen! Stop by on Saturday, December 7th, from 10AM-4PM to try some newly imported items such as cheese, panettone, prosciutto, torrone, and more. The first 20 people to arrive will receive a special goodie bag.
The LOT Christmas & Holiday Market
Shop small this season and begin holiday shopping at The LOT’s two-day Holiday & Christmas Market! Enjoy warm drinks, Santa photos, and a great shopping experience for gifts made with lots of love. Our local vendors offer any gift you need, including jewelry, clothing, local souvenirs, art, and more. Saturday’s market will run from 12-8PM and Sunday’s from 12-6PM.
Merry Moakley Party
Boston Harbor Now, along with other local organizations, is hosting the annual Merry Moakley event. It will be held on December 12th, 3:30-5:30PM, at The Ollie Preschool lot, 1187 Columbia Road. Festivities will include cocoa, music, crafts, games, photos, pizza, and more. Don’t miss out!
Nightmare Before Christmas Pottery
Head to Cannonball Cafe for a coffee-tasting and pottery class on December 14th with Pottery with a Purpose! Get in the spirit of the holidays with a showing of The Nightmare Before Christmas and participate in a beginner clay-making class. One ticket includes one to two handmade mugs, a drink, and a 20-minute tasting by Cannonball’s owner, Rachel Lazar!
Holiday Stoop Competition
The first annual Caught in Southie Holiday Stoop Decorating Competition is here to spread holiday cheer and support the South Boston Neighborhood House. Sign up to decorate your stoop and compete for fun prizes like Best Overall and Most Creative. On December 22nd, from 4–7 PM, join the Holiday Stoop Stroll to enjoy festive decorations, refreshments, and entertainment for $10!
