Meet: Stephen Dray, General Manager at Six West
Meet Stephen Dray, General Manager at Six West! Stephen chatted with us about their farm-to-table menu, the restaurant’s different dining options, and how they support other local businesses. Six West is an American-style restaurant that opened in 2019 in the Cambria Hotel. It has everything from brunch to dinner to specialty cocktails.
Stephen mentioned that everything in the kitchen is “made from scratch,” and there are a plethora of options to choose from when dining. Six West sources from several local farms and incorporates them all to achieve farm-to-table dishes and farm-to-glass drinks. There is something for everyone on the menu! The extensive beer list is supported by the “glutton of amazing breweries in this area, and [they] are proud to showcase all of them,” Stephen adds.
Supporting the Southie community is something that Stephen Dray is very passionate about. He told us his favorite memories of Southie include “meeting the local residents, learning about the small businesses, and becoming involved in the community.” Along with sourcing local ingredients, he has worked closely with West Broadway Neighborhood Association (WBNA), participated in the Boston Bloom event, and helped plan the Earth Day cleanup. His one word to describe Southie is ‘vibrant,’ and he believes residents and employees in the community would agree.
Six West’s rooftop is a hot spot in Southie year-round, and the view is amazing! Currently, there are heated outdoor dining globes available for guests to enjoy the venue without compromising on comfort. Stephen told us, “To have the entire view of downtown while being here in South Boston is something that we’re really proud of.” Don’t forget about the exciting events Six West has planned as well! Stephen let us know everyone should, “Keep [their] eyes out for upcoming events, including wine tastings, beer fests, live music, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, and Gatsby Party.” You can find Six West in the Cambria Hotel at 6 West Broadway in Southie.
